Summer Camp June 15 - 21, 2003
Camp Cherokee, Grove, OK
This year, Troop 9 decided to go to summer camp outside of council. This was a first for us.
Our destination this year was Camp Cherokee in Grove, OK, one of two camps operated by the Cherokee Area Council. A couple of weeks earlier two of the adult members had made a morning visit to the camp to try to get an idea of what to expect.
It is a camp where water sports rule. Water skiing, motor boating, sailing, and every other water activity imaginable is offered in this wooded camp occupying a cove and shoreline on Grand Lake of the Cherokees.
Below you will find links to individual the pages that describe each of our days in camp. The daily pages contain many of photos taken during the week.
We also took over 30 minutes of digital video of our Scouts as they climbed the tower and rappelled down, as well as miscellaneous activities around camp. These videos, along with the full 249 pictures taken during the week, will be available as a slideshow/movie presentation on a DVD or Windows media player CD for any member of Troop 9 or visitor to this web site. Check the fund raising section of the home page for availability.
Thanks for visiting this page and sharing our summer camp experience with us!
